It was raining outside and I still on the air-con in my bedroom. Lazily cooked a bowl of instant noodle and a cup of mint-flavor coffee. Then I sat in front of the TV, pressing on the remote control looking for any good channel and end up on a channel that giving a tips for healthy eating pattern.
It's called "Ten-Two-Four". So what is it actually? "Ten-Two-Four" refers to the clock. In human body there is what we call biological clock. When you feel sleepy, hungry, tired, and other feelings are caused by your biological clock. That's why everyone has different timing of getting hungry or sleepy. "Ten-Two-Four" is 10.00 am, 02:00 pm, and 04:00 pm. These are the recommended additional eating time beside breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Each time will have different type of food. For ten o'clock the recommended type of food is those which have high fiber. For example, vegetables or fruit. The recommended food will be a bowl of vegetable-fruit salad. Do not eat too much as it's almost lunch time. Then on two o'clock we will need to consume complex carbohydrate food such as brown rice (beras merah), ubi, or potato. And last at four o'clock, high protein food is recommended such as meat, fish, chicken meat, mutton, as this will give us energy when we do exercise in the afternoon. For example, sandwich with ham, or sandwich with tuna.
It's very interesting and I would like to try this pattern. But we must remember to limit our food consumption. By controlling the amount of food we consume, we will have a healthy life. Healthy life makes happier life. Have a try on it. (CRoe.Ta)
